Color wheel
The tree of life:
This painting did not turn out how I wanted it to, I could of done better on this painting, but I really liked the concept of incorporating the color wheel into the tree.
Pointillism
Spots of a rose:
For the pointillism piece I decided to do a rose since I love roses. I think it turned out pretty good and I liked the fact that I didn't just used red for the rose.
Color Scheme
Blue boats:
For the color scheme painting I decided to do the ocean and paint it blue. To me the ocean is a happy and lonely place. I did blue for the lonely feeling I get from the ocean and I did the pink/salmon for the happy feeling I get when I got to the ocean.
Abstract Piece
Stripes:
For this piece I didn't know what to do so I did a bunch of stencils and painted them and I did the sprinkles with a toothbrush.
Ground Painting
8 shades of roses:
For the ground painting, I did 8 different roses. The ground is red and orange just like some roses. But I did all different roses to represent us, humans. We are all human beings, but we all have our different style, character, and we are all different even though we are all human beings.

Writing an Art Critique
ē
I have chosen to critique an art piece from Matthew Thomas. The name of this art piece is " Golden Museum Terrace In Cape Town, South Africa"
Free Style Painting
The Rose:
For my free style painting I decided to draw a rose. I really like roses because they were beautiful flowers. I don't really know why I am so connected to roses, but I am. I think that roses have different meaning depending on what rose it is and what color it is. I find drawing roses relaxing because I actually like drawing it. For this rose I chose to do a light background. For the actual rose I did mostly nude colors because those are my favorite colors and then I added the stem instead of the leaves because I think the leaves would have taken attention from the rose.

ReplyDeleteI really like how you used the different shades of pink in your rose to make it pop out. The background color also really compliments the rose, and it looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteI like how you used a different shade of pink for each petal to create dimension. The middle of the flower seems more coral than the rest of the flower but it could just be the picture. Overall it looks very good.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like this piece. Seriously, this is awesome! Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm glad you used such soft colors for this piece.
ReplyDeleteThe different shades of pink used helps give the rose more dimension, and the transition from pink to orange is nice. I like the muted colors of the rose.
